Banwell Architects, established in 1966, has grown from a sole practitioner to become one of the leading architectural firms in northern New England. In our hundreds of projects over three decades of practice, we have established a reputation for innovative and cost effective design solutions. Establishing an interactive working relationship with our clients is the first step in the architectural design process. Effective and frequent communications with user groups are essential to the successful evolution of every design, from freehand bubble diagram to the finest detail. We use a variety of media to communicate design concepts, including sketches, models, and multiple views with 3-D CADD.

Our experience in ski resort design dates back to the mid-sixties. Living and working by choice in the heart of ski country, we bring to resort clients an understanding and love of the sport and general enthusiasm for the out-of-doors. This translates into particular care for environmentally responsible design and has served us well in achieving permits from stringent northern New England regulatory agencies.

With the goal of creating beautiful, buildable solutions to programmatic challenges, we approach every design as a special case. We recognize that each project contains a set of unique circumstances, within which lies the opportunity for a fresh vision. Led by five principals with an experienced staff of architects, draftspeople, and administrative
support, our firm will be responsive to your design needs and time constraints at a fair and competitive cost. The lead principal and project architect, assigned for the duration of the project, direct our staff and draw on the expertise of other principals, architects, and outside consultants as needed to meet your design objectives on time and on budget.
